ARIN Local Task Force on the Right to EducationWho We AreThe Local Task Force (LTF) on the Right to Education in Armstrong and Indiana Counties is an advisory group comprising consumers, advocates, and providers of special education. Consumers, both students with disabilities and parents/caregivers have the majority membership on the LTF. Provider members represent area school districts, career and technical centers, ARIN IU 28, and the Armstrong-Indiana Mental Health/Mental Retardation Program. Advocate members represent agencies that serve people with disabilities. What We DoAs an advocacy group for students with disabilities, the LTF works to strengthen, improve, expand, and monitor programs and services that meet individual educational needs. The LTF gives parents, administrators, students with disabilities, agency representatives, and others a place to share information, discuss their concerns and seek collaborative solutions. The LTF works to resolve problems and refers individual concerns to the appropriate person or organization. How to Contact UsLocal Task Force Meetings are open to the public. All interested persons are welcome to attend. Meeting announcements appear in the “Sunshine Notices” of area newspapers and in the Arc of Indiana County’s “Let’s Chat” newsletter that is distributed to local schools.
